When did you realize you wanted to race sleds?

Probably the day after I ran my sled into a ditch where it finally stopped, upside down, parked in a tree. I was going slightly too fast.

Worst crash:

Getting landed on.

Most exciting event of your career:

Getting tipped in the first corner at West Yellowstone in 2004 and going from 14th to 4th in the Semi-Pro 440 final.

Number of broken bones:

Just some teeth and a few scars.

Favorite race track:

McCall, Idaho and West Yellowstone.

Pre-race ritual:

Stretch and eat. Everything else is psychological.

Exercise regimen:

Quad racing in the summer, otherwise lifting weights and a ton of cardio.

Why do you race snowmobiles:

It’s the best adrenaline rush I have ever experienced, you meet great people and, of course, it’s a blast!

Who has been the most influential person in your career?

Steve Martin. We raced, snowboarded and joy rode together when I was younger and now he’s a superstar. Whenever we talk, he’s still the same old stand-up guy he always was and offers great advice.

Who would you like to be trapped on Desert Island with?

I should probably say my girlfriend…yeah, I’ll stick with that answer.

High school – graduated Student Body President and valedictorian. College – currently attending the University of Denver as a business major.

First job:

Working at a tire warehouse.

Going to school and racing.

Anything and everything…my dad is in the IT side of things, my mom deals with research.
