Valcourt, QC, January 20, 2009 – BRP/Ski-Doo X-Team racers made their marks on history, winning the I-500 cross country race and the Eagle River World’s Championship ice races January 16-18.
Bryan Dyrdahl won a record fifth I-500, taming the pounding bumps and rugged terrain these races are famous for on a Ski-Doo MX Zx 600RS sled.
Brian Bewcyk repeated as World Champion at the historic Eagle River, Wis., Derby track in the event's premier race. Bewcyk made note of Ski-Doo snowmobiles’ 50th Anniversary in his victory circle interview by wishing the company "Happy Birthday.”
Icing on the cake was provided by Sam Vandeputte in the I-500 with his win in the Semi-Pro class, and Malcolm Chartier at the Derby with his 600 Pro Stock class win.
