Re: E-Tec Fuel Hose Assembly Replacement

Dear Ski-Doo® Owner,

This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act, the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Environment Canada. BRP has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain Ski-Doo snowmobiles models and is conducting a safety recall. This is a safety-related as well as an emission-related recall.

What is the potential problem?

Some units were assembled with a fuel hose assembly that may have internal damage which could lead to a fuel leak. If such a leak occurs, fuel vapor in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire and can potentially cause serious injuries.

To confirm that your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is affected, contact your authorized Ski-Doo dealer or BRP at 1-888-272-9222 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern time 7 days a week.

What should you do?

Immediately stop using your snowmobile and call an authorized BRP Ski-Doo dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. The repair will take less than an hour.

The dealer will perform this work at no charge to you.

What to do if you feel this notice is an error?

This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available. If you no longer own this vehicle or some information in this notice is incorrect, please contact BRP at your earliest convenience.

Note: A defective fuel hose which can lead to a fuel leak may cause the vehicle to release air pollutants exceeding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Environment Canada standards resulting in potentially failing a state or local emissions inspection.

As defined in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, and the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, as a manufacturer, we are also required to correct vehicles that may be emitting pollutants in excess of emission standards. These emission standards were established to protect the public health or welfare from air pollution.
