Re: Fuel Injector Potential Leak


Dear Ski-Doo® Owner,

BRP is sending you a notice in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). BRP has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain Ski-Doo models and is conducting a safety recall.

This is a safety-related as well as an emission-related recall.

Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.


Which models are involved?

Specific serial numbers of model year 2019 Ski-Doo models equipped with 850 E-TEC® engines.


What is the potential problem?

The vehicle may have inappropriate torque value on the fuel injector bolts could lead to fuel leaks.

Fire could occur in the presence of an ignition source. In some situations, this could result in serious property damages, injuries or even death.
 

To confirm that your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is affected, contact your authorized Ski-Doo dealer or BRP at 1-888-272-9222 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern time 7 days a week.
  
What will BRP do?

BRP intends to repair your vehicle free of charge.


What should you do?

BRP recommends avoiding driving your vehicle.

Please contact your BRP Ski-Doo dealer and make an appointment. Your dealer will perform the repair procedure.

The presence of aftermarket modifications will not prevent you from receiving this service at no cost. The presence of these modifications, while the service is being completed, will not void any existing warranty or service contract.


What to do if you feel this notice is an error?

This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available. If you no longer own this vehicle or some information in this notice is incorrect, please contact BRP at your earliest convenience.

Note: A potential wear of the fuel delivery system can lead to a fuel leak and may cause the vehicle to release air pollutants exceeding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards resulting in potentially failing a state or local emissions inspection.

As defined in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, as a manufacturer, we are also required to correct vehicles that may be emitting pollutants in excess of emission standards. These emission standards were established to protect the public health or welfare from air pollution.
