Re: Vent Grill Melting- Potential Fire Hazard

BRP is conducting a safety recall on certain Ski-Doo models.
BRP has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain Ski-Doo models and is conducting a safety recall. BRP has reported this matter to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.
What is the potential problem?
On models equipped with a 600 EFI engine, in some specific riding conditions, a high heat could develop in the muffler causing the upper right hand vent grill to melt. In some situations, fire could occur. This could result in serious property damages, injuries or even death.
Which models are involved?
Model year 2021 and some specific serial numbers for model year 2022 Ski-Doo models equipped with 600 EFI engines.
What will BRP do?
BRP intends to repair your vehicle free of charge.
What should you do?
BRP recommends to avoid driving your vehicle but if you must use it, be sure to not go over 7200 RPM.
Please contact your BRP Ski-Doo dealer and make an appointment. Your dealer will perform the repair procedure.
The presence of aftermarket modifications will not prevent you from receiving this service at no cost. The presence of these modifications, while the service is being completed, will not void any existing warranty or service contract.
